Right-to-left books

Arabic books read from the right. The layout, the text side and the page order follow that.

An Arabic book is a right-to-left book. That means:

  • The text reads from right to left.
  • The usual text side is the one a reader's eye reaches first in Arabic.
  • Pages turn in the direction Arabic readers expect.
  • Our screens in Arabic are right-to-left too, not mirrored pictures.

You can still choose the text side yourself. See Choose the text side.
